How does it stay on the wall?
How does it stay on the wall?
A fan inside the body pulls air out from underneath it, so the ordinary air pressure in the room presses it flat against the surface while four driven feet walk it along. There is no glue, no suction cup and no magnet anywhere in it.
Which surfaces does it work on?
Which surfaces does it work on?
Smooth, clean and dry. Painted drywall, glass, windows, mirrors, doors, tiles and whiteboards all work, and so do lightly textured walls. Heavy popcorn texture, bare brick and dusty walls are where it stops.
Will it mark my walls?
Will it mark my walls?
No. Nothing sticky, adhesive or magnetic ever touches the surface. The one thing worth watching is the floor, because dirty wheels can carry dust up onto an otherwise clean wall.
What is in the box, and is it loud?
What is in the box, and is it loud?
One gecko, the remote controller, a USB charging cable and a small screwdriver. Two AAA batteries for the remote are not included. In climbing mode the fan makes a steady rushing sound, because that fan is what holds it to the wall. The floor mode is close to silent.
